It looks like Callen (Chris O’Donnell) and Anna’s (Bar Paly) upcoming wedding hints at the return of the much-awaited character, Hetty (Linda Hunt), in NCIS: Los Angeles Season 14.
Hetty was last seen in the final episode of Season 12, where he wished Nell (Renée Felice Smith) and Eric (Barrett Foa) well after they left NCIS. So, after the plans to make Hunt return in Season 13, will it finally happen in NCIS: Los Angeles Season 14?
The Possible Return of Hetty in NCIS: Los Angeles Season 14
The Season 13 finale saw Callen proposing to Anna on the beach. Of course, Anna accepted, and the two were planning their much-awaited wedding.
So, in TVLine’s in-depth fall preview of the show, showrunner R. Scott Gemmill revealed Callen would realize he still had unfinished business and didn’t want to get married without Hetty around.
In fact, he wished his adoptive mother to be there on his big day. That said, it only hints at the return of the NCIS franchise’s original cast member.

“The plan is to go and rescue her at some point, find out what she’s gotten herself into,” Gemmill said. “We’re just trying to figure out schedule-wise when we can pull that off.”
He then revealed that making Hunt return was their original plan for Season 13, but it didn’t happen.
“We had a bit of a [COVID variant] surge, but things seem to be settling down a bit,” he explained. “Hopefully, nothing new comes along, and we can make that happen this year.”

Daniela Ruah Returns behind the Camera in NCIS: Los Angeles Season 14
Daniela Ruah will also return in NCIS: Los Angeles Season 14. But aside from seeing her in front of the TV screens, she will also work behind the camera.
The 38-year-old star excited her fans after revealing she would again take a major role behind the scene in the series next season.
In a post on Instagram, she shared a photo of herself holding the digital script for the upcoming fifth episode, titled Flesh & Blood, crediting her as the director.
The show’s production is ongoing, and Ruah has been updating her 1.1 million followers of the behind-the-scenes works.

“Here we go again…,” she captioned the snap.
According to Express, the episode she’s directing will be out sometime in November.
This is not the first time Ruah will be directing an NCIS: Los Angeles episode. In fact, this is the fifth time she has been seated on the director’s chair for the series.
NCIS: Los Angeles Season 14 will premiere on October 9.
