Last year, the beloved Naruto anime celebrated its 20th anniversary. And as part of the celebration, there were lots of projects announced such as an exhibition, as well as a character poll.

The Naruto 20th anniversary character poll got a lot of reactions, and it got a surprising winner in Minato Namikaze.

Aside from just being a celebration of the series though, the poll also resulted in a new one-shot featuring Minato.

But one project that got a lot of attention from fans is the return of the original Naruto anime.

Specifically, it was announced previously that the original series will return with four new episodes.

Many fans were hoping that the series will return after studio Pierrot shared a 9-minute-long remake video that showed several highlight moments from both Naruto and Shippuden.

While this did not turn out to be a preview for a remake, fans can still look forward to the return of the original as new episodes will be released, though it’s still a mystery what exactly it will be about.
