A Girl's Ego is the title of My Hero Academia Chapter 393, and it begins with a flashback to a time when the League of Villains was still hiding.

Twice asked Toga if she wanted to have her own villain name. Mr. Compress and Twice decided to give Toga a villain name after Spinner noticed that he and Shigaraki were the only ones in the league without one.

Mr. Compress believed that a villain name added a touch of sophistication, but Spinner and Twice came up with amusing villain names such as "Vampiress Carmilla" and "Suck-Suck Lickitung," both of which were flatly rejected by Toga.

Dabi chimed in, arguing that villain names are only for show and are a remnant from before the quirk registration system.

Tomura shared that there was no distinction between heroes and villains in the past, with one theory claiming that the aliasing situation began when one had an anonymous enemy and needed to name them something.

Some people opted to use those nicknames to conceal their identities from then on.

The theory says that it all started with people declaring themselves under various identities, which is why the world has transformed into a comic book.

Tomura thinks that while names can be cool, he still believes that he is good with his own name.

Hearing this, Toga exclaims, jumping with delight, claiming that this is why she joined the league: to live as Himiko Toga!

Back in the present, Toga and Himiko are still at odds. Toga is certain that Ochako's rules require her to pity her circumstances, but Ochako denies them.

That's when Ochako grabs Toga, causing her to float due to her zero-gravity quirk. Toga tells Ochako that she knows the right things to say in this situation.

She still believes that in the end, the heroes will hurl her into prison on death row, or worse, murder her outright, like what they did to Twice.

Toga contends that her situation is either win or lose or life or death. It's a winner-take-all survival match, and there's no turning back, which Ochako agrees is the apparent truth for both of them.

This pushed Toga to think differently, saying that if it’s not really a pity, then it’s just Ochako's ego talking, and if their egos are clashing, then Ochako is dead meat.

All of a sudden, Toga unleashes "Sad Man’s Legion", releasing a swarm of Twice’s doubles to the extreme, enveloping all the heroes in the process.

This sight caused panic and worry for the reporter, who was on board a helicopter circling around the area.

The reporter remarks that quirks will grow stronger with every generation until no one can hope to control them, and over the years, they’ve often heard whispers of this doomsday theory.

She also believes that the doomsday theory is finally happening, seeing how Toga’s emotions are transforming the world.

She commands her legion to crush Ochako, but the latter repels the attack with her gun head martial arts, sending the doubles floating back in the air.

Toga mocks Ochako, claiming that even if she makes all of her doubles float, there is no harm done to them.

Surprisingly, Ochako agrees, noting that her zero-gravity quirk isn't used to harm people, much to Toga's chagrin.

Ochako continues, claiming that Toga might be correct about her ego talking, considering that she has purposefully killed people and can't erase her slate.

Nonetheless, Ochako reasoned that there had to be a cause, noticing that Toga appeared to have no choice but to fight.

She also remembered that day when everything turned upside down, and what she said made Toga seem so sad.

Toga became enraged and told Ochako that she was the unhappy one. But Ochako responded, claiming it's both of them.

Ochako also told Toga to listen to her, remembering how she worried about her when they first met since she didn't comprehend Toga and didn't know how she could produce a genuine grin.

But Toga wants Ochako to shut up, all the while remembering Twice, who supported her goal of living life as Himiko Toga, pushing her to drop all the bodies she likes and become whoever she wants to.

Ochako acknowledges that she had previously pushed Toga away, conceding that perhaps this world isn't a place where she can be herself, but she has seen so many joyful smiles in her time.

However, Ochako was envious of Toga's ability to communicate her feelings and do it with her entire face while smiling.

Furthermore, Ochako adds that she does not want to pretend she did not see Toga's amazing smile, which caused the latter to cry.

Ochako urgently reaches out her hand, touching the swarm of Doubles. The swarm suddenly broke out after the heroes and doubles floated in the air.

Ochako seizes this chance and hurries over to Toga, claiming she wants the two of them to talk about romance.

The following chapter will reveal Himiko Toga's decision. Will she give up the struggle and do what Ochako wants her to do? Will they eventually reach an accord and talk about romance?

If Ochako succeeds, the horde of Doubles will vanish, which is also excellent news for the other heroes still fighting on the battlefield.

However, if Ochako fails, Toga will become a much more serious threat to everyone!
