Disney fans are particularly fond of the songs from the studio's classic animated movies, so when live-action Mulan director Niki Caro announced that the film wouldn't feature any of its iconic songs a lot of outrage spread online. After all, if Beauty and the Beast could get its own musical live-action film adaptation, then why can't Mulan?
Luckily it seems like Disney's still mulling over the decision to forego the songs. Speaking with the LA Times, Caro clarifies the comments she made earlier this week, saying:
"I don't know where that's come from. We've never talked about songs, and no decision has been made."
It's possible that this sudden change of heart is because of the massive backlash Disney and Caro received after the director revealed earlier this week that the movie wouldn't have any of its ballads. It's great to hear that Disney's rethinking its decision to skip out on the musical element of the Mulan live-action film adaptation; the original film had really great songs that fans love singing to.
Of course Mulan could be told without any of its musical, but who'd want to miss that bit about defeating the huns? Share your thoughts with us in the comment section below.
