Ms. Marvel Writer Addresses Season 2 Possibility

After months of anticipation, Episode 1 of Ms. Marvel has now finally arrived on the streaming service Disney+. Starring Iman Vellani as the titular hero, the latest Disney+ show follows Kamala Khan, a 16-year-old die-hard Avengers fan trying to navigate high school while also dealing with a mystical bangle that grants her superhuman abilities.

What fans mostly thought about every time a new Disney+ series arrives is whether it could develop a second season. Sadly, only two Disney+ shows have been confirmed to have a second season: Loki and the animated series What...If?. Now, speaking about Ms. Marvel's chances of getting a Season 2, it looks like there is 'hope.'

In a recent interview with Screenrant, Ms. Marvel's head writer Sana Amanat was questioned about what would happen to Kamala Khan after Season 1. Amanat clarified that Ms. Marvel is a limited series, intentionally created to introduce Kamala before her next outing in The Marvels.

"I hope there are," Amanat candidly said. "I mean, it is laid out as a limited series for her to go off and do other things. It certainly establishes her [as a] hero. She will be going into Marvels next, so that's kind of there. I hope we get a Season 2 is all I'm going to say! I hope we're a part of that."

For now, it's undeniably clear that Ms. Marvel only stands as a limited series, which clearly implies that the odds of getting a second season for Khan's young heroine is highly-unlikely at this point. Despite that, we will still see Ms. Marvel in Brie Larson's Captain Marvel sequel, The Marvels, where Kamala would meet her dearest hero, Carol Danvers aka Captain Marvel, together with Teyonah Parris' Monica Rambeau.

Nevertheless, it's still too early to rule out the possibility of getting a second season. Ms. Marvel has just released Episode 1 last Wednesday and still has 5 more episodes to go. Most importantly, the fans’ demands would dictate if the Disney+ series can prosper into a second season. If the streaming performance of the series concludes triumphantly, the chances of getting a second season would be extremely plausible as well.
