What Happened Before Ms. Marvel Episode 3?
Ms. Marvel Episode 2, Crushed, Kamala arrives at school with newfound confidence now that she knows she is a superhero and she acts cool that she even corrected the teacher of her name. She bumped into the new kid in school and she easily got starstruck by him. Then, Bruno comes in and asks her to show him her powers so they could learn more about them.
Kamala and Bruno talk about her powers and she tells him that she cannot talk to ants. They overhear that Zoe posted about being saved and upon reaching the cafeteria with Nakia, Zoe names the hero as “night light” which Kamala didn’t like at all. Nakia calls her “budget Captain Marvel” and Kamala almost gives away her identity but Bruno cuts her in time.
Zoe declares that she will have a party to “celebrate the fragility of life” and at first, Kamala says that they won’t go but when Zoe invites Kamran, the new kid that Kamala has a crush on, they decide that they will attend the party. After that, Kamala and Bruno go backstage in the auditorium to see Kamala’s powers but she still can’t control them.
Kamala gets into training with Bruno to find out more about her powers and she discovers that she has no superhuman strength nor speed but she can create platforms that she can step on like levitating in mid-air. In the course of her discovery of her powers, Bruno determines that the powers are coming from within Kamala, not the bangle.
At a point, they even reenact Black Widow and Hawkeye’s Endgame scene where Kamala tells Bruno, “you have to let me go,” but the ground is just near Kamala’s feet. Also, Bruno notices that the bangle has inscriptions and they are not sure what language it is. They stick with what they know and Kamala calls her powers “hard light.”
Kamala and Nakia rush to the mosque and they despise how women are treated with their facilities almost rotten, carpets with mold, and upon learning that Nakia’s shoes were stolen again, Kamala encourages Nakia to run for the mosque board and be the change they need. Nakia jokingly tells Kamala that she would be the campaign manager.
At home, Kamala helps her mother and apologizes for sneaking out. She also asks permission to go to Zoe’s party. All is forgiven and her mother wants her to go home through their front door this time. At the party, Kamala and her friends see Kamran jump off the roof to the pool, then Kamran introduces himself to Kamala and her friends.
When the cops arrive, Kamran offers Kamala and her friends a ride. In the car, Kamala and Kamran talk about Bollywood and Bruno shows some jealousy by sneaking himself into the conversation for as much as he can. Kamala arrives home floating and dancing as if she is on cloud nine because her crush offers to take her to a drive and gives her his number.
The next day, Kamala discovers that her nose is glowing so she runs to the comfort room and Nakia follows her. Kamala asks Nakia how she makes it look easy but Nakia tells her that it isn’t because she is “either too white or too ethnic” and being in between sucks. Nakia reveals to Kamala that when wearing her hijab, she feels herself and doesn’t have to prove anything to anyone.
Bruno discovers that he gets to be in the early immersion program of CalTech but he is unsure whether to take it. He wants to know what Kamala would have to say but before he can tell her, she blocks her by asking him if he would join her family for the celebration of the Eid Mubarak. Kamala proceeds to Kamran who offers her to drive his car.
At the restaurant, Kamala and Kamran talk about how their mothers have a crush on Kingo, the Bollywood actor who is also an Eternal, by the way, and Kamala sees her brother, Aamir, outside. Aamir approaches them and Kamala says that Kamran is their cousin. With an accent, Kamran fools Aamir.
At home, over dinner, Yusuf recounts the story of the Partition of India. Kamala’s mother, Muneeba, walks away because her family’s story of that event is something that she ran away from for years.
As Yusuf tells the story, Sana, the grandmother of Kamala, was just a toddler when she got separated from her father who was severely injured. It was said that Sana reunited with her father by following the trail of stars. As for Sana’s mother, she disappeared that day, never to be found again.
Kamala experiences something like an earthquake and a mysterious woman appears in her vision. It was too much for Kamala that she fainted. Later that night, she learned from Sana, her grandmother, that the bangle belonged to Aisha, Kamala’s great-grandmother.
The following day, the day of the celebration of the Eid Mubarak, Kamala asks Muneeba about her great-grandmother Aisha but she utterly dismisses Kamala saying that Aisha brought disgrace to their family. At the celebration, Nakia plans her campaign and Kamala volunteers to be with the Illumi-Aunties. Nakia convinces Yusuf to vote for her.
Kamala bonded with the Illumi-Aunties to learn more about Aisha and they had nothing good to say about her. As it turns out, a lot of gossip circulated about Aisha being a snake, having an affair, and even killing a man.
Their chat gets interrupted when a kid asks for help as he is about to fall from a tower. Kamala suits up and everyone is in awe. Kamala calms the kid by making him think of something he loves, ice cream pizza. Kamala gets to the kid and saves him.
However, when Kamala is about to get the boy from her hard light, her bangle glows once more and she gets a clearer look at the face of the mysterious woman in her vision. This led to Kamala losing focus and the boy almost fell to death but she still managed to save him despite him hurting his ankle.
Kamala runs away from the scene and while escaping, the Department of Damage Control almost cornered her but just in time, Kamran’s car approaches her and takes her away. In the car, a woman greeted Kamala – the same woman in her visions. She turns out to be Kamran’s mother and she said she waited a long time to meet Kamala.

Ms. Marvel Episode 3 Spoilers, Theories, and Leaks
The mysterious woman is named Najma, as revealed by the Funko Pops of Ms. Marvel. Little is known about her aside from the fact that she is Kamran’s mother and she is aware of who Kamala is and what her powers are. There is a huge possibility that she is also aware of the bangle that Kamala got from her great-grandmother, Aisha.
There’s a theory, though, that Najma may actually be Aisha. See, as per the stories of Yusuf and the Illumi-Aunties, Aisha disappeared from her family during the Partition of India, never to be seen again. However, Aisha and Najma have different Funko Pops which may hint that they are two different people.
Another speculation is that Najma is the villain of Aisha and upon the activation of the bangle of Kamala, she tracked where the power is coming from, hence, Kamran is a new kid in town in the same school as Kamala. Since Kamala is nearly clueless about her powers, Najma could exploit Kamala’s naiveness.
In one of the teasers of Ms. Marvel titled Courage, Najma is seen to be fighting with Kamala where the titular hero needed to make a hard light shield to protect herself. If Najma is the villain, then, Kamala is now in deep trouble as she landed right into the hands of Najma through Kamran.

Disney+ exclusively streams Ms. Marvel along with all the other Marvel series released or upcoming as announced for the Phase Four of the MCU. There is no news yet as to the release of the series on DVD but what is sure is that it would be available on the service in the highest streaming quality, 4K. It is rated TV-14
