More Mega Evolutions Confirmed for Pokemon Let's Go!

After confirming that Venusaur, Charizard, and Blastoise would have their Mega Evolutions, a new trailer has confirmed that other Pokemon will also have this ability in Pokemon Let's Go! Pikachu and Let's Go! Eevee. The video confirms that Mega Gyarados and Mega Kangaskhan will be in the game, making these already powerful monsters even more so.

While the video itself is pretty short, we do get to see how spectacular Hyper Beam looks with the game's graphical engine. Granted, the engine itself is only a slight improvement over the 3DS games but the gameplay should save it. It is Pokemon after all, with a number of features from the popular mobile game Pokemon GO.

Gyarados and Kangaskhan are already pretty strong by themselves so giving them Mega Evolutions might be seen as overkill. To be fair, both Pokemon are already difficult to get so giving them a fancy power-up that changes their appearances and boosts their stats isn't a bad idea. Players will have to train a Magikarp to level 20 so that it can evolve to Gyarados, while Kangaskhan has to be caught in the Safari Zone.

Pokemon Let's Go! Pikachu and Let's Go! Eevee are the first official Pokemon games coming to the Switch, with an official entry to the series coming in late 2019. The Let's Go titles will be available on November 16.
