Today marks the birthday of Arataka Reigen, an incredibly popular character in the anime fandom. To mark the occasion, Mob Psycho 100 is celebrating Reigen’s birthday with a special video compilation of his best moments.
This video was shared via the show’s official Twitter account. Though, even before this video was released, the account already shared several celebratory posts about the Mob Psycho 100 fan favorite.
Why Is Reigen So Popular?
One of the first celebratory posts about Reigen’s birthday is a Mob Psycho 100 Twitter post featuring a cake with Reigen on it.
This cake was made for the staff of the anime series as they celebrated the character’s birthday.
If you’re a fan of the series, Reigen is no doubt a familiar face. In fact, he’s likely your favorite character or at least one of your favorites.
In case you’re unfamiliar though, Reigen is a major character in the series. He is the owner and operator of the Spirits and Such Consultation Office.
There, he works as a psychic and the boss and mentor of the main character, Mob.
Reigen calls himself the “Greatest Psychic of the 21st Century” though he does not have any esper abilities at all.
Instead, when real psychic abilities are required, Reigen relies on Shigeo "Mob" Kageyama to do the actual exorcising.
Despite his lack of power, Reigen is shown to be quite capable and intelligent, as well as incredibly lucky based on the events of the previous seasons.
Moreover, despite his unusual relationship with Mob, he is seen by Mob as a true mentor.
Before October 10 ended in Japan, a special video was released which compiles some of Reigen’s most iconic moments from the first and second seasons.
This video also serves as a preview video for the show’s third season which is now ongoing.

Where Can Fans Watch Mob Psycho 100 Season 3?
Mob Psycho 100 Season 3 can be streamed online via Crunchyroll, along with the two previous seasons.
Season 3 premiered on October 5 and is set to be the final season of the anime series. Anime studio Bones returns to make the anime.
It features the return of the Japanese voice cast, as well as most of the English dub cast except for the voice of Mob.
The anime is based on the manga of the same name by ONE, the creator of One-Punch Man. It was serialized in Ura Sunday from April 2012 to December 2017.
