A source told 7news.com.au that Meghan Markle did not have the opportunity to speak with King Charles III due to a number of reasons. First, the monarch is now in Scotland, and second, he’s still in mourning.
The insider also claimed that it would be odd if Markle spoke with King Charles III without Prince Harry by her side. That’s why such a request won’t likely be granted by the dad of two.

However, some royal fans believe that a conversation between the in-laws may happen when the time is right. After all, King Charles made it clear how much he loves his son and Markle.
Following the queen’s death, he addressed the nation and gave the Duke and Duchess of Sussex a touching shoutout. He said that he is sending his love to the couple who is building their life in the United States.
Meghan Markle Wanted To Clear The Air With Her Father-In-Law King Charles III
After the queen’s funeral, royal expert Neil Sean claimed that Markle requested to have a conversation with her father-in-law.
“She’d now like [to], before they return back to California, to have a one-to-one audience with King Charles III. That’s right, Meghan one-to-one with King Charles III. You heard correct. And what’s interesting here is, according to that good source, this was made in a formal letter, this is how you write to the King. Now you have to admire Meghan’s self-belief, whatever you think,” Sean said (via Elle).
According to Sean, Markle’s goal is to clear the air with her father-in-law amid reports of an ongoing rift and misunderstanding between them and Prince Harry.
“[It’s] an opportunity to clear the air, put the rights from wrongs, and explain some of the rationale behind what they’ve been doing over the last two years. Truthfully, we have no idea if this is going to go forward. It’s a very brave move from Meghan herself,” Sean added.
Prior to the queen’s death, Markle hinted at the possibility of forgiving whoever wronged her and her husband.
“I think forgiveness is really important. It takes a lot more energy to not forgive. But it takes a lot of effort to forgive. I’ve really made an active effort, especially knowing that I can say anything. I have a lot to say until I don’t. Do you like that? Sometimes, as they say, the silent part is still part of the song,” she told The Cut.
