Meghan Markle’s Story About Exaggerated Wave Could Alienate Americans And Britons?

But according to body language expert Spidey, Meghan Markle’s generalizations could alienate Americans and Britons from one another.

“I’m genuinely curious, does everyone who lives in America wave like that? [She] threw every American under the bus by saying all Americans wave in an exaggerated way. I get that she’s trying to be funny and self-deprecating and relatable. And I get that she’s probably trying to compliment the UK by saying things are really outrageous in the states. But these generalizations tend to alienate people,” he said (via Cheat Sheet).

Meghan Markle’s Generalizations Can Cause Divide, Body Language Expert Claims

According to the body language expert, it wouldn’t be surprising to know that some Americans and Britons may have been offended by what they heard from Prince Harry’s wife.

Spidey went on to say that Markle’s tendency to make generalizations can also cause more division than unity among people.

“For someone who is always talking about prejudice and talking about these big things that she’s trying to champion, it seems inconsistent that she would have these generalizations—that all Americans are loud and obnoxious and all Englishmen and Englishwomen are smaller. It seems inconsistent for someone who is trying to create awareness that there are biases out there. [Her statements] are basically a generalization,” he said.

Meghan Markle Faced Backlash For Seemingly Making Fun Of Her First Curtsy To Queen Elizabeth

Spidey isn’t the first person to criticize Markle for the things that she said in Harry & Meghan. Some viewers also took offense when she seemingly made fun of the royal family’s longstanding tradition of curtsying to Queen Elizabeth and now to King Charles.

Some royal fans accused Markle of being disrespectful to the royal family and their traditions.

“Is that meant to be funny? Gosh the lack of respect,” one person tweeted (via Today).

Another royal fan also claimed that Prince Harry looked uncomfortable while watching his wife share her curtsy story.

“Meghan Markle’s mocking of the curtsey and Harry’s reaction is just cringeworthy,” the royal fan wrote.

A third person stressed that Markle couldn’t possibly be making fun of the royal family because what she did just proved that she was making fun of herself.

“Surely it was obvious when watching, #MeghanMarkle was making fun of herself! How it’s turned into her making fun of the Queen and so on is beyond me,” the royal fan wrote.
