But over 600 days later, there are claims that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are struggling with their celebrity life. That’s why they might be keen on returning to the royal fold.
Prince Harry And Meghan Markle Want To Straddle Their Royal Life
During a discussion on the Royally Us podcast, PR experts Lina Citreon and Christina Garibaldi talked about Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s lifestyle. The latter said that the couple is one of the most popular personalities in the world today, but they still want to straddle their royal life.
“You know, when they were told they couldn't, they're still using their HRH titles and things, so it seems like they're still pushing the royal life but don't really want to be associated with it either,” she said (via Express).

Prince Harry And Meghan Markle Can’t Quit Royal Family And Still Be Part Of The Institution
Citreon responded by saying that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex cannot have it both ways.
“When you think about royal life and pageantry of the institution, there are lots of rules that come with that and there are protocols and there are rewards. But celebrity also has rules and protocols and rewards, it also has a lot of risks, being handled is different, and being managed is different. I don’t know how they would find a way to bridge both but they kind of need to choose,” she said.
Garibaldi then asked Citreon what she thinks Prince Harry and Markle would do. After all, it seems that the couple had no other choice but to choose their celebrity life because the royal family made it clear that they didn’t have a place there.
“Well, yeah, when the door shuts, it’s kind of hard to still make a decision, you know,” Citreon said.
Prince Charles Could Grant Prince Harry, Meghan Markle’s Wish To Become Part-Time Royals
Last month, royal author Tom Quinn claimed that there’s hope for Prince Harry and Markle to return to the royal fold.
“I think Meghan and Harry are hoping … Charles will be open to [them being] part-time royals, which is what they wanted from the start. Of course, the queen — who grew up with this sense that you’re either in fully or out fully — she wouldn’t allow [it]. But Charles may well allow this,” he told Us Weekly.
Quinn also said that Prince Charles and Prince Harry may reach an agreement in the near future.
“It would be better to say to Harry, ‘OK, we’ll do it the way you want to do it. You can be here for six months. It’s not as if being a working member of the royal family involves anything politically sensitive or controversial, because really when they’re full-time royals, they open hospitals. They, you know, give their names to charities. So that is possible that, that they could do that for half the year and, you know, do their other stuff in America,” he said.
