Prince Harry and Meghan Markle left the royal family in 2020. There were rumors that it had always been the plan — to leave the Palace. A royal expert echoed the same sentiment after speaking with some of the Sussexes' staffers.

Meghan Markle Wants The Royal Family To Reject Her?

British journalist and The Times royal correspondent Valentine Low shared that some of the Palace staffers felt it was Meghan Markle's desire to be rejected by the firm. She allegedly didn't want to stay with the royals.

"It's a controversial viewpoint, but it is a viewpoint that some people in there [the Palace] felt," Low told Express.co.uk after describing the belief that she "craved rejection."

The royal expert who just released his new book Courtiers: Intrigue, Ambition and the Power Players Behind the House of Windsor was convinced that "unrealistic expectations" played a role in Meghan Markle's struggle when she was in the Palace.

"It was a combination of her unrealistic expectations about what royal life would be like and the palace's failure to manage those unrealistic expectation."

He added that Prince Harry was discontented with his royal life, and the feelings "heightened" after he met his wife.

The royal author sympathized with the royal couple, noting that Buckingham Palace handled the situation badly since the Duke and Duchess of Sussex were clearly unhappy.

Prince Harry Wouldn't Leave Royal Family Had He Not Married Meghan Markle?

Royal biographer Tina Brown weighed in on Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's departure from the Palace. According to The Palace Papers author, it was wrongly called Megxit because it was what Prince Harry wanted all along.

"I do think it's wrongly called Megxit," Brown told Page Six when she promoted her book. "He wanted out and she enabled him to do what he wanted. She was strong enough to say, 'You know what? You want out. I can make it happen.'"

Brown said Prince William's brother had shown the world that he "absolutely hates" his royal life. However, he didn't have the guts to leave until he married Markle.

"If not, but for Meghan he wouldn't have found a way out because he basically was a man who had everything done for him all of his life. He had never carved a life for himself. Meghan was very much a self-starter, a self-made successful woman. She knew who to call at Netflix. He wasn't worldly like Meghan was worldly."

Is Megxit Prince Harry's idea, or is it Meghan Markle's plan from the very beginning?
