Meghan Markle left the royal family two years after she married Prince Harry. Her Megxit came as a shock to some royal experts and royal fans who were hoping that she would continue to perform her royal duties just like her sister-in-law, Kate Middleton.
Royal Author Tom Bower Claimed Meghan Markle Didn't Have Any Plans To Stay In The Royal Family Long-Term
But during a recent interview with Sky News, royal author Tom Bower claimed that Meghan Markle never really had the intention to stay in the royal family long-term. The Duchess of Sussex seemingly just used her royal status to build her image in America.
"That's exactly why she left because she never wanted really to stay. She wanted the label, she wanted the title, she wanted the money – she didn't get so much money – but she did get the status. And now she's set on building herself up in America," he said.

Royal Author Tom Bower Has Been Criticizing Meghan Markle For Months
This is not the first time that Bower talked about Markle. Last month, the royal author accused Prince Harry's wife of crying at Queen Elizabeth's funeral because it would seem like a good gesture.
"Well, was she emotional back then? I mean, when she allegedly touched a tear or was it the act of a Hollywood actress thinking it'd be a good gesture to suggest a tear? I think the only person that Meghan, I think at the moment, is crying for, is for herself – certainly not for the Queen," he said (via Yahoo! News).
Royal Author Tom Bower Faced Backlash Following The Release Of Revenge: Meghan, Harry, And The War Between Windsors
Months ago, Bower also released his book Revenge: Meghan, Harry, and the War Between Windsors, where he made some strong allegations against the Duke and Duchess of Sussex. However, some people came forward to say that they were misquoted by the author.
Royal commentator Kristen Meinzer accused Bower of recycling her quotes from a different interview without giving her proper credit.
"'No one,' agreed Kristen Meinzer, a friend, and a writer, 'could have been prepared for the level of racism and misogyny and vitriol that she's faced. He/she, as Meinzer describes herself, blamed the 'inbred, messed-up, dysfunctional family' who were up against a 'highly educated self-made millionaire who knew how to do the PR game... A lot of people think you were so lucky to get her, and you blew it,'" Bower wrote in his book.
But Meinzer told Business Insider that Bower even got her pronouns wrong.
Bower also claimed that Markle's tone became sharper and more aggressive during Suits Season 6. But assistant director Derek Ursacki previously said that Markle was a pleasure to work with.
"She was always a pleasure to work with and was always kind with a huge heart, easy going, humble even after the fame of the show and her popularity skyrocketed, so full of life, so giving, supportive and funny," Ursacki said.
