MCU's Kang Actor Does Own Stunts To 'Put Trust In Kang'

Since Jonathan Majors’ first appearance in 2021’s Loki season 1, the actor has been known to MCU fans as Kang the Conqueror. Due to this, we can definitely expect more cameos that would connect his character to incoming Marvel projects. Majors is also set to play the super-villain role in several upcoming Marvel Cinematic Universe projects including Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, where he spoke about doing his own stunts in the film.

Men’s Health describes Jonathan Majors as a multifaceted leading man that combines his physical and mental strengths, an actor who ‘not only savors a challenge but seeks it out.’

“When I look at a script, I look at the level of difficulty. If it’s going to be easy, I don’t want to do it. The fitness community is going to scrutinize Magazine Dreams. The Navy is going to scrutinize Devotion.”

Majors is evidently enthusiastic when it comes to being authentic, and putting his physical and mental strength to good use in dedicating it through his works. In fact, in the same interview, he revealed his concern in convincing the audience his characters are real:

“People have been following this character for two hours sometimes. I’ve been trying so hard to tell the truth, which is not easy. A part of you will know. That’s Kang, but that’s not my Kang. That’s Kang adjacent. That’s a stunt guy. In The Harder They Fall, I ride a horse in a very particular way. You put a stunty on that, and they go, ‘He don’t got the swag. His head ain’t bopping.’ You should never once think it’s not him. You know it’s him. So you trust in him.”

It is no surprise his dedication led him to multiple successes including The Harder They Come, Devotion, he was even Emmy nominated for his role in HBO’s Black horror series Lovecraft Country. It’s good to know that someone like Majors is approaching Kang’s character with this mindset, since action-pack scenes with the supers are being anticipated for his future appearances in the MCU films.
