Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 is part of the early 2023 Marvel movies to be released and USA Today just unveiled a new look at the guardians in the upcoming finale for the Guardians franchise. In the picture, we see the Guardians gathered around the table sporting new suits, but what caught the attention of MCU fans was Nebula with her new arm. Check out the new image below:

If you can recall, one of the most tortured characters in the MCU is Nebula. We got to see most of her suffering in Avengers: Infinity War, where she was being tortured by her own adoptive father, intergalactic warlord Thanos, in exchange for information from her adopted sister Gamora regarding the location of the Soul Stone. So it is only right that she gets her own upgrade.
In the Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special, we get to see Nebula giving a gift to Rocket, which is Bucky Barnes the Winter Soldier’s vibranium arm, which he had been eyeing on since Avengers: Infinity War. Given this context, fans are left to question whether Nebula’s new arm came from Rocket lending it to his comrade, or if she is trying to “copy” the Winter Soldier’s aesthetics. While James Gunn did previously answer the question behind as to how Nebula got Bucky’s vibranium arm in the first place, we have yet to see where she got her own new major upgrade. I guess we can only wait and see once Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 comes out.
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 is currently slated for release on May 5, 2023.
