Disney+'s upcoming series Secret Invasion may be Marvel Studios' most mysterious project at this point. Despite production wrapping up last April, fans are still clueless about what the latest series is really all about, and when it will really arrive on the streaming platform. Thankfully, Disney has finally revealed a game-changing synopsis for Secret Invasion, surprisingly describing it as a "crossover event."

Secret Invasion As Another Crossover-Event?

See Secret Invasion's newly-dropped synopsis listed on Disney below:

"Secret Invasion is a newly announced series heading to Disney+ that stars Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury and Ben Mendelsohn as the Skrull Talos—characters who first met in Captain Marvel. The crossover event series showcases a faction of shape-shifting Skrulls who have been infiltrating Earth for years."

Although the synopsis didn't fully disclose a comprehensive plot for Secret Invasion, calling it a "crossover event" seemingly teases another massive project with several character cameos just like Spider-Man: No Way Home and Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.

Secret Invasion is already jump-packed with A-list actors that include recurring appearances of Marvel veterans like Samuel L. Jackson and Cobie Smulders. It would also serve as the debut of Game of Thrones star Emilia Clarke in an undisclosed role. On top of that, Academy Award nominee Olivia Colman is also set to join the MCU, rumored to be playing a gender-swapped role.

Secret Invasion Present At Comic-Con!

Fans who were present at Marvel's mega panel at San Diego Comic-Con were lucky enough to have the first look at Secret Invasion, featuring triumphant returns of MCU mainstays like James Rhodes (Don Cheadle) and Everett Ross (Martin Freeman), with an exciting first look at Olivia Colman who was referred to as Nick Fury's "old ally." Unfortunately, the teaser was exclusively for Comic-Con attendees and hasn't yet been released to the public.

Marvel Studios hasn't yet released an official release window for Disney+'s Secret Invasion, but fans can expect it to arrive in early 2023.
