Doctor Strange 2: Marvel Producer Confirms Major Theory About Earth-838’s Ultron Bots

Two months after the MCU milestone Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness premiered in theaters, the film is still loaded with undisclosed mysteries. One big question that the fans are pondering is where are the Avengers on Earth-838? and why the Illuminati was left to defend the universe? More importantly, why is Wanda living a normal life with the twins instead of defending the world from evil threats? Thankfully, in a recent interview, a Marvel producer finally responds to these questions.

In a recent interview with Empire via The Direct, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness producer Richie Palmer sheds some new light on the Illuminati's formation, including the creation of the Ultron Bots.

On Earth-838, Tony Stark's "a suit of armor around the world" plan worked. Luckily, every Avenger was given an opportunity to retire, which leads to Earth 838's Wanda having a normal life with the twins.

“…this is a world where Ultron seemed to work the way Tony Stark intended him to work in Age of Ultron," Palmer explained. "'A suit of armor around the world,' Tony was trying to get the Avengers to retire in Age of Ultron. So, imagine this is a Wanda that, around that time... This is a world where Tony cracked Ultron, and it worked, and he went, 'Hey, whoever wants to retire and go home, can.' And then the Illuminati came to rise behind the scenes, pulling the strings, but I think it's just a little bit of a better world for whatever reason, and Wanda was able to go and have the life that she deserved. We as the audience don't know who the father of those children is in this universe.”

Back in Earth-616 during the events of Avengers: Age of Ultron, after discovering Tony Stark's agendas for Ultron, the Avengers had a diverse reaction. Most of them completely despise the idea, but the 'suit of armor around the world’ didn't really prosper, and they just went on to create Vision. Just like what Stark thought, the Ultron bots would have protected the Earth from threats, but of course, with Ultron's turmoil in the film, the Avengers had to obliterate the idea.

It's certainly good to see what the world could've looked like if Tony Stark's Ultron bots were born. Imagine this, if the Ultron bots were scattered around the world, the Avengers may have given early retirement, and they might now have the life they long dreamed of. Sadly, that didn’t work in the main MCU universe and the Avengers will remain as the defenders of the universe.
