Marvel Announces Dead Man Logan, The Final Old Man Logan Story

When Marvel brought Old Man Logan back as an ongoing series after Secret Wars, fans had a mixed reaction to it. As time went on, however, many people did enjoy the series for what it was and the fact that it never ignored the continuity from Mark Millar and Steve McNiven's original story was always a plus.

But all good things come to an end. Old Man Logan #50 might be the last issue of the ongoing series but the character's swansong starts this November with Dead Man Logan, a 12-issue mini-series that will supposedly be the last Old Man Logan story ever told. Ed Brisson, who has been writing the Old Man Logan ongoing series since Jeff Lemire left, will helm the series with Daredevil artist Mike Henderson.

Speaking with Newsarama, Brisson confirmed that the title is indeed a spoiler and that this version of Logan is dying. Before he does that, however, he will be tying up any loose ends left, like Mysterio. In the original story, Mysterio fooled Logan into thinking that the X-Mansion had been invaded by supervillains. However, the villains were just illusions and Logan ended up killing the X-Men.

Though the outcome had been predicted by many, especially with the original Wolverine coming back, this version of Logan has made an impact. Fans are probably impressed that his series reached 50 issues and the fact that he's getting 12 more for a finale is pretty cool.

Dead Man Logan #1 (of 12) comes out in November. Here's the first issue's solicitation:
