Mark Hamill Reacts To Star Wars Episode IX Title Reveal

He may have been absent at Star Wars Celebration but that doesn't mean Mark Hamill is completely out of the loop. The Star Wars Episode IX actor has just reacted to the film's trailer and title reveal.

Hamill was noticeably absent at the Episode IX panel at Star Wars Celebration, which was attended by most of his co-stars. Nevertheless, the Knightfall actor supported The Rise of Skywalker when the trailer was finally revealed. Check out Hamill's tweet about the first teaser.

"It's not #EpisodeIXFromHisNap or even my suggestion: #EpisodeIXABunchMoreStuffHappens- It'#EpisodeIXTheRiseOfSkywalker! It's time for the 8 months of speculation to begin. Is that Skywalker KYLO? LEIA? ANAKIN? LUKE? A previously unknown SKYWALKER? Is REY a Skywalker?" Hamill wrote, adding the hashtag #CoolTitle.

First of all, Hamill's suggestions seem like a good way to go. Nevertheless, it looks like J.J. Abrams had other ideas.

In addition to Hamill's absence from the panel, Luke Skywalker is nowhere to be found in the teaser. This could be a sly move considering that Luke was already killed off in Star Wars: The Last Jedi and it's still unclear how he will be brought back in Rise of Skywalker. People who are hoping to see Hamill in action will have to wait until the next trailer or maybe even this December.

Interestingly, the teaser also hinted at the possible return of Emperor Palpatine. Will Luke need to face the villain who once turned his father to the Dark Side? This is certainly something we are looking forward to later this year.

Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker is scheduled for release on December 20.
