Star Wars actor Mark Hamill was in attendance during the Golden Globes ceremony to present the Cinematic and Box Office Achievement Award that was awarded to Barbie last Sunday night.

The actor's appearance as the presenter of the category was symbolic since the original 1977 Star Wars film is considered to be the pinnacle of blockbuster cinema and changed the movie business forever.

However, that wasn't the only highlight for Hamill during the ceremony, as it also allowed him to finally meet the actress who played the character that gave birth to his character, Luke Skywalker.

In his recent post on X, Mark Hamill shared a photo of him with Natalie Portman, meeting for the first time at the Golden Globes ceremony last Sunday night.

"Now I have finally met my 'mother', thanks to the @goldenglobes," the actor wrote in his caption.

As Star Wars fans know, Portman played Luke Skywalker's mother, Padme Amidala, in the prequel trilogy. The character tragically died at the end of the third film.

The actress was nominated in the Best Actress – Motion Picture Comedy or Musical category for her acclaimed performance in the Netflix film, May December. She lost to Emma Stone in Poor Things.

Years ago, Hamill admitted in his social media post that he had never met Portman despite their characters having familial connections. A lot of fans were surprised with the actor's revelation.

Interestingly, The Last Jedi director, Rian Johnson, shared in his reply to the actor's post that Portman visited the set of the film, but Hamill already wrapped all his scenes by that time.

Fortunately, for both the actors and the fans, Hamill and Portman finally had the opportunity to cross paths and meet for the first time during the ceremony, even for just a brief moment.

Hopefully, they'll get a chance to work together on a project in the future, whether it's Star Wars-related material or not.
