After getting leaks last week, the Shonen Jump manga Undead Unluck is confirmed to get a TV anime adaptation. Specifically, the manga series Undead Unluck's anime adaptation is set to release next year.

Along with its 2023 premiere, it was also revealed that the anime’s production will be handled by David Production.

In case you’re unfamiliar, David Production is an anime studio that was founded in 2007 and has worked on a wide range of popular anime.

Most fans know David Production for being the studio behind JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure from Part 1 to the latest Part 6: Stone Ocean.

Aside from JoJo, the studio has also worked on shows such as Fire Force and Cells at Work. The studio is also working on the upcoming Urusei Yatsura remake.

While the studio was revealed, there’s no info yet on the anime’s cast and staff.

Undead Unluck is a manga series by Yoshifumi Tozuka that started serialization in Weekly Shonen Jump back in January 2020. The manga is available in English outside Japan through Manga Plus.

The series follows Fuuko Izumi, a young girl who has been living alone for 10 years after an incident involving her that left over 200 people dead. Fuuko has the “unluck” ability which brings bad luck to anyone that she touches.

After losing her will to live following the end of her favorite manga series, Fuuko decides to commit suicide. But she is stopped by a strange man, and she discovers that the man can regenerate as his mysterious power prevents him from dying.

Thus, the two begin to work together, and they soon find themselves being chased by a mysterious organization.

The Undead Unluck anime is set to release in 2023, though there’s no word yet on an exact release date.
