Magic: The Gathering fans have started a petition for the Commander Rules Committee to ban the cards featured in the upcoming crossover MTG product, Secret Lair x The Walking Dead from day 0. When Wizards of the Coast announced that the mechanically unique cards featuring characters from AMC's The Walking Dead will be black-bordered and legal in Eternal formats like Commander, many players expressed their concerns about The Walking Dead cards, with many complaining about their limited availability and how characters from another franchise are officially being added to the popular trading card game.

The fan petition brings up three reasons why they want The Walking Dead cards banned in Commander from day 0.
1.) Those cards favor those who have money and/or are lucky enough to get them in time. They have the Moxen problems, that even if they are not broken in EDH, they give advantages to people that are not gameplay related.
2.) It will show WotC that we are tired, that we won't take every single behavior thrown at us. If those cards would be banned from day 0, WotC WILL take notes, they just will. It will hurt their wallet, and they will start making the products that we want. Products that aren't trying to exploit us. Everyone will win.
3.) Those cards are slippery slope. Stop them now or we will get MLG Doritos food tokens in 40 years.
At the time I started writing this, nearly 13,000 people voted to ban the cards from Commander, and only 921 voted "No". The majority obviously wants to ban them in Commander, but no decision has been made yet. The Commander RC recently said that they will have "something official to say" before the new Secret Lair becomes available for preorder in early October.
