One of the many Spider-Verse films that are currently on their way is Madame Web, which wrapped production a while ago. So far, the details remain scarce although we know that Dakota Johnson is leading the film as the titular hero and there are rumors that it will have a Terminator-esque story involving a young Peter Parker.
As we are waiting for more details about the film ahead of its scheduled release in just about a year, Severance star Adam Scott was asked recently in an interview with Collider regarding his casting in the film and why he decided to join the project.
The actor, who played coy regarding the story or the role that he will play in the film, revealed that he was planning to not work on a project before filming the second season of Severance last October but he decided to take the Madame Web role when the offer came to him.
"I actually didn't think I was gonna work over the summer before we started Severance up again because we started in October, and I wasn't planning on working at all before then. Then this came up, and I couldn't resist," he said.
So far, Scott's role in the upcoming Spider-Verse film remains under wraps although there are rumors that he will be playing a younger version of Uncle Ben Parker. There is also no announcement yet regarding when the first trailer or plot details of the film will arrive.
As we've seen in Parks and Recreation and in a now-acclaimed leading role in the hit Apple TV+ series Severance, we know that Scott is a talented actor so it is great to see him get involved in the film and, whether it is the rumored young Uncle Ben Role or not, it is exciting that he is part of a huge ensemble.
The cast also includes Sydney Sweeney, Celeste O'Connor, Isabela Merced, Tahar Rahim, Emma Roberts, Mike Epps, and Zosia Mamet. S.J. Clarkson is directing the film. It is set to be part of Sony's Spider-Man Universe franchise.
