Production is currently underway for Sony's Madame Web, one of the upcoming films in the Spider-Man Universe franchise. Most of the plot details surrounding the film are being kept under wraps, but a lot of set photos have surfaced online which gave us an idea about the characters that the actors might be playing.
Now, it looks like we may have the information about the roles that some of the cast members are playing in the film thanks to The Cosmic Circus. According to their report, Dakota Johnson is indeed playing Cassandra Webb while Sydney Sweeney is playing Julia Carpenter, another character who took the "Madame Web" mantle in the comics.
However, the most interesting part is the information on Emma Roberts and Adam Scott's alleged roles in the film. The site claimed that Roberts is playing a younger May Parker (also known as Peter Parker's mom) while Scott is playing a younger Uncle Ben Parker, who we know has a prominent part later on in Peter Parker's journey to becoming Spider-Man.
So far, Sony has not made any confirmation on this report so we still need to take it with a grain of salt, but the site has reported a lot of accurate information in the past so there is a strong likelihood that they might be true.
Considering that Roberts is seen having a pregnancy look as her character on the set of the film, it is likely that she is indeed playing May Parker and she could be carrying Peter which is why she's pregnant. As for Scott, he is seen as a paramedic on the set which is not essentially a strong clue that he is playing Uncle Ben in the film.
Either way, these are clues about the potential story of Madame Web. If the information is indeed correct, it looks like the film could be partially an origin of the Parker family and, for some reason that we don't know yet, Madame Web is involved in it.
As filming is still underway, we could get more clues in the coming weeks and months on what the film is actually all about beyond the speculations that we have so far based on the set photos and leaks online.
