Lucky fans in Japan are in for a treat this week as the Lycoris Recoil play recently began its run. To celebrate, Lycoris Recoil fans were given their first look at Chisato and Takina on stage.
While the play’s run is short, fans who are curious to see what real-life versions of the LycoReco characters look like are in for a treat as the stage play’s official Twitter account shared lots of new photos from the play.
Along with these, the play’s actors also shared lots of behind-the-scenes photos of the cast in full costume.
Lycoris Recoil Stage Play Announcement
Most of the popular anime from 2022 were based on existing manga or light novels, though Lycoris Recoil is an exception.
As an original anime by A-1 Pictures, the show didn’t get much hype during the Summer 2022 season.
But as the season progressed, the series quickly became one of the most popular anime, both in Japan and internationally.
Because of its success, the series has expanded with a manga series and a light novel spin-off.
Soon, a stage adaptation was announced that will run for a limited time in Tokyo.
LycoReco Play: Behind-the-Scenes
While the play’s official website and social media accounts have shared visuals of the cast in costume, the actors themselves recently shared behind-the-scenes photos on Twitter, to the delight of LycoReco fans.
This is a nice treat for fans not only internationally, but also in Japan because the play only runs from January 8 to 15, 2023.
Because of its limited run, only a few lucky fans will be able to see the play live.

Lycoris Recoil Play: Onstage Look
Aside from behind-the-scenes looks from the cast, the Lycoris Recoil play’s official Twitter account also shared photos of Chisato and Takina on the stage from the first day’s performance.
Along with the main duo, we were also given a look at the other LycoReco characters, including the likes of Kurumi, Mika, and Mizuki.

For now, this is the best look that fans outside Tokyo and Japan can get of the play.
After all, the rest of this week’s performances will only be held at the Tennozu Galaxy Theater in Tokyo. This is unlike other stage productions that are also held in other major Japanese cities.
Soon though, fans will be able to watch a recording of the full play when the Lycoris Recoil stage play Blu-ray & DVD launch on July 5, 2023.
