While the series has ended, fans of LycoReco are in for a treat as a Lycoris Recoil stage play adaptation has been announced, and it will run in early 2023.
The stage play was revealed in a new Twitter account made to promote the production.
Details about the play were also shared by Japanese news sites such as Comic Natalie.
Lycoris Recoil Stage Play Cast
Lycoris Recoil (also referred to as LycoReco) is an original anime series by A-1 Pictures that’s directed by Shingo Adachi and written by Asaura.
The series is set in an alternate version of Japan that’s kept safe by Lycoris, an all-female group of spies and assassins.
Lycoris agents take down criminals and terrorists while being unknown to the public.
Its story follows Takina, a Lycoris agent who is demoted after disobeying orders during a mission.
She is assigned to work alongside Chisato, an expert Lycoris agent who refuses to take the life of criminals. Instead of standard guns, she uses non-lethal weapons.
Takina and Chisato are opposites in terms of personality as Takina is strait-laced while Chisato is happy-go-lucky. But Takina must do her best to get along with Chisato if she wants to get her old position back.
While the anime has concluded, fans have more to look forward to as the upcoming stage adaptation will let fans relive the show’s events.
Alongside the stage play’s announcement, the main cast was revealed, which features:

- Mieko Ishii as Mizuki
- Nonoka Ohbuchi as Kurumi
- Keigo Kitamura as Mika
- Natsuki Saegusa as Kusunoki
- Hiroki Nakata as Majima
- Marina Tagami as Fuki
- Sakura Ayaki as Sakura
- Arina Ijiri as Erika
- Kento Ono as Shinji
- Himeka Shintani as Himegama
- Rintaro Takeuchi as Robota

Lycoris Recoil Stage Play Release Date
The announcement did not reveal much regarding story details, but given that most of the characters from the anime are confirmed to be in the play, it’s expected that it will retell the story of the LycoReco anime.
What we can confirm is that the stage play will be written and directed by Akira Yamazaki.
Tickets for the play were also released today via Lawson in Japan.
The Lycoris Recoil stage play will run from January 7 to 15, 2023, at the Tennozu Galaxy Theater in Tokyo.
Much like other anime stage adaptations, this production will be held in Japan only.
As for the anime, there’s currently no word yet on whether Lycoris Recoil Season 2 will be made.
