Lucasfilm's Kathleen Kennedy Shares Update on Kevin Feige's Star Wars Film

We're still a few days away from the premiere of Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker but some fans are already looking towards the future of the beloved franchise. So when can we expect to see the Star Wars film that will be produced by Kevin Feige? Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy has offered an update on the highly anticipated project.

Kennedy recently spoke to Los Angeles Times about the future of Star Wars and she was immediately asked about Feige's movie. Unfortunately, it may take some time before the project even begins production. According to Kennedy, the Marvel Studios president currently "has an idea" for the film "but it's in the early stages."

It might not be what people are hoping to hear but it makes sense that Feige can't work on his Star Wars movie right away. After all, he's already extremely busy planning the future for the Marvel Cinematic Universe, which currently has several films and TV shows in development. Sadly, fans will need to wait for a few more years before the Star Wars project actually begins production.

Feige's involvement with Star Wars was reported back in September although no details about the new movie were shared. Likewise, Lucasfilm did not confirm when Feige would begin working on the project. Stay tuned for more updates on this story.

Lucasfilm's next project Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker will hit theaters on December 20.
