Lovers of the Red Sky remains the No.1 K-drama among those that air in the Monday and Tuesday evening time slots. The series continues to be at a tight match with the KBS series Police University and tvN Kdrama High Class.
Despite experiencing a slight downfall in its latest episode, Lovers of the Red Sky still managed to record an average nationwide viewership rating of 8.9%. The series' personal best 10.2% rating was received in Episode 6.
However, it is expected that the Kdrama will go back on track in the following weeks.
Lovers of the Red Sky is a historical fantasy romance drama based on a novel of the same name penned by artist Jung Eun Gwol. The renowned artist also worked with Sungkyunkwan Scandal, and The Moon Embracing The Sun, both adapted into hit K-drama series.

Lovers of the Red Sky Episode 8 sees Hong Cheon Gi finally entering Gohwawon alongside the other painters. After being toured around the prestigious place, Cheon Gi gets informed that she will work on recovering the late King's portrait during the night.
Expert Han shows Cheon Gi around the place where all paintings of the past Kings were stored. He also oriented her on what kind of work will she be doing during her stay in the Gohwawon.
However, when Cheon Gi is taking her time observing the late King's portrait, she suddenly feels nauseous, which made her fall down due to the mysterious energy coming from it.
They immediately went outside and Cheon Gi goes on her way back to her quarters. She meets Prince Yangmyeong as he will be the one who will assist Cheon Gi in recovering the late King's portrait.
Before starting, Cheon Gi suddenly remembers she dropped her bandage inside the room where the kings' paintings were stored. She hurriedly went outside and as she was on her way, she sees Ha Ram. When they were retrieving the bandage inside, the portrait calls the demon inside Ha Ram.
As soon as Cheon Gi and Ha Ram evacuated the gallery, Prince Yangmyeong arrived. They witnessed Ha Ram in a terrifying state as the demon inside him awakens once again.
