After being postponed for a week due to the Chuseok holidays, Lovers of the Red Sky aired its episode 7 on September 27, 2021. The series also continued to be on top of the Kdramas airing on a Monday-Tuesday evening timeslot with a 9.3% nationwide viewership rating for episode 7.
Although experiencing a slight drop from its personal best of 10.2% from episode 6, it is still safe to assume that the Kim Yoo Jung, Ahn Bo Hyun, and Gong Myung starred Kdrama will return to the two-digit viewership ratings.
Lovers of the Red Sky is a historical fantasy romance drama based on a novel of the same name penned by artist Jung Eun Gwol. The renowned artist also worked with Sungkyunkwan Scandal and The Moon Embracing The Sun, which is both also adapted into hit Kdrama series.

Lovers of the Red Sky episode 7 sees Hong Cheon Gi getting in trouble when her father throws a paintbrush at Prince Joo Hyang. Prince Yang Myeong and Ha Ram try to convince Prince Joo Hyang to not punish him, hence Hong Cheon Gi being pressured to take her father's place instead. Thankfully, Prince Joo Hyang showed her mercy.
Later, the King orders Hong Cheon Gi to enter Gohwawon because of her impressive performance during the painting contest. However, Cheon Gi refuses to leave her sick father even after several people trying to convince her.
After hearing about how her father went mad from Prince Yang Myeong, Cheon Gi decides to go to Gohwawon and try to discover the truth behind her father's madness.
Lovers of the Red Sky episode 7 also sees Cheon Gi and Ha Ram sharing a serious conversation when the old lady Sam Shin brought the former to the scholar's house. Ha Ram tries his best to deny that he was the young boy that Cheon Gi met during their childhood. But after realizing what Cheon Gi has told him, he decides to let his emotions free.

Lovers of the Red Sky episode 8 preview sees the King ordered to restore the late King's portrait. However, Prince Joo Hyang seems to be plotting something against the King's decisions. Due to this, he teams up with Mi Soo to confirm that the Demon is residing inside Ha Ram's body.
On the other hand, Cheon Gi and all the other finalists during the painting contest were introduced as new painters in Gohwawon. Cheon Gi will work for Gohwawon during the day and will take on a different job with Prince Yang Myeong during the night.
The preview also sees that Ha Ram seems to be working on his emotions towards Cheon Gi when he swore that he will do anything to protect the latter.
