Love of Kill might not be the most popular show of the Winter 2022 season, but there's a lot to like about the josei anime if assassins and forbidden romances are your cup of tea. As Chateau and Rynag-ha's stories become entwined in unexpected and often shocking ways, there are more reasons to keep watching week after week. For those who prefer watching anime in English, is Love of Kill getting an English dub, and when?
Based on a manga of the same name, Love of Kill follows two ruthless killers; Chateau Dankworth, a bounty hunter, and Song Ryang-ha, whom she's tasked with killing. Ryang-ha, too, is after Chateau, but not in the way one might expect for a criminal like himself. His target, metaphorically speaking, seems to be Chateau's heart, as he showers her with gifts in the form of the people she's tasked with finding and eliminating.
Chateau refuses his advances but finds herself entangled with him, while later developments reveal that Ryang-ha's interest might not even be purely romantic, after all.
When Will Love of Kill Be Dubbed in English?
Crunchyroll recently announced an English dub line-up for several ongoing anime, including Love of Kill. The first dubbed episode will feature on Crunchyroll from the 23rd of February onwards, and, from there on, a new dubbed episode will air weekly.
A dub might not change the core of the story, but, depending on the acting and directing choices, some improvements might be made to the original; a common complaint is that the enemies-to-lovers aspect of the show is not very well-done as the characters do not appear to have much chemistry. A dub can't make miracles happen, but, hopefully, this criticism will be taken into consideration.
Chateau Dankworth will be voiced by Erin Yvette, a voice actor mostly known for roles in video games such as The Sims, The Wolf Among Us, and The Walking Dead. Yvette has also appeared in My Next Life as a Villainess: All Routes Lead to Doom! In the role of Ryang-ha we have Ryan Colt Levy (Rody Soul in My Hero Academia: World Heroes' Mission).
