Love Death and Robots: Jibaro Defeats Star Wars Visions, Simpsons for Animated Program Emmy

Love Death and Robots has proven that it has the perfect formula for success. The Volume 3 episode Jibaro just won an Emmy, defeating the likes of The Simpsons, Star Wars: Visions, and Robot Chicken!

The official Academy of Television Arts & Sciences Foundation Twitter account announced the win on Saturday, September 4, 2022. The Love Death and Robots Volume 3 episode Jibaro, which was written and directed by Alberto Mielgo, won the Outstanding Short Form Animated Program award.

It's an awesome win for Alberto Mielgo, who previously won the Emmys for Best Animated Short, Best Art Direction, and Best Animation for The Witness, which was part of Love Death and Robots' first volume. Mielgo was also one of the juried winners for Outstanding Individual Achievement in Animation.

Jibaro defeated the Simpsons special When Billie Met Lisa, The Boys Presents: Diabolical!' episode John and Sun-Hee, the Star Wars: Visions episode The Duel, and the Robot Chicken episode Happy Russian Deathdog Dolloween 2 U.

Jibaro was one of the most popular episodes in Love Death and Robots Volume 3 due to its stunning visuals and unique look. The episode follows a deaf knight who encounters a golden siren at a lake where she slaughters his companions. When the siren realizes that the knight is immune to her powers, she is somehow drawn to him but he kills her, takes the gold from her body, and dumps her corpse in the lake. But the lake has magical healing powers so when the knight gains his hearing and the siren is resurrected, more blood ensues.

All episodes of Love Death and Robots are currently streaming on Netflix.
