The second season finale of Loki saw Loki finding his true glorious purpose by becoming the God of Stories and holding all the branched timelines as he took the place of He Who Remains.

However, the temporal loom was also disintegrated, unleashing the multiversal war and the Kang variants in all the branched timelines which sets up what we might see later on in Avengers: The Kang Dynasty and other multiversal-centric stories in upcoming MCU projects.

As we're starting to see the aftermath of the unleashing of the multiversal war, some fans are wondering whether it has a connection to Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania where a variant of Kang the Conqueror served as its main villain.

Now, we finally have the answer which also revealed the exact setting of the season in alignment with the MCU's sacred timeline.

During the second season finale of Loki, in the aftermath of Loki becoming the God of Stories, we saw that the TVA has returned to normal operations and dealt with the new World Tree multiverse that they now have to look out for.

We also learned that the TVA is keeping tabs on the various He Who Remains variants in the branched timelines. Mobius mentioned that one of the variants was handled by a hero in Earth-616 adjacent.

It is obviously a reference to Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania where a variant of Kang the Conqueror was its main villain and successfully defeated by Scott Lang at the end of the film. The name "616 adjacent" was referring to the Quantum Realm.

It also confirmed that the Kang variant that we met in the film earlier this year was not the real variant and we still have yet to see the actual Kang who will become the villain when we watch the upcoming Avengers films in a couple of years.

While it is a great easter egg for MCU fans, it's also interesting information about the Kang variants in the MCU and it suggests that we will be seeing more of him in the upcoming projects.

However, Marvel Studios is also caught with a problem on whether they have to recast Jonathan Majors following his current legal issues. Luckily, given that it is a multiverse and the character has variants, they can find an easy way to recast him with another actor when we see more variants in the future.

All episodes of Loki are available to stream on Disney+.
