Warning: This article contains SPOILERS for Loki Season 2 Episode 2, so read at your own risk!

Throughout the first season of Loki, we've seen significant character growth for the God of Mischief from being the villain that we've known of him throughout the years to a heroic-like figure that somehow becomes the key to saving the multiverse.

Loki has also gained friends within the TVA such as Mobius, who has become his best friend and partner throughout their adventures. He also has strong affection for Sylvie, a Loki variant who has also become his partner in action.

Based on the first two episodes of the second season alone, it looks like Loki's character development and growth will continue and he is becoming far away from the villainous figure that he has been known for.

In the recent second episode of Loki season 2, after failing to interrogate X-5 and get answers for Sylvie's whereabouts, Loki and Mobius had a heart-to-heart conversation while eating a slice of pie.

After Mobius admitted that his plan wasn't tactical, Loki comforted him by confessing his own mistake on his mischievous plan during the Battle of New York that was depicted in The Avengers.

"Do you remember that time, I was so angry with my father and my brother, I went down to Earth and I held the whole of New York City hostage with an alien army?" he recalled to Mobius during the scene.

"Tried to use the Mind Stone on Tony Stark. It didn't work, so I threw him off the building. I mean, let me tell you something. Wasn't tactical. I lost it. Sometimes our emotions get the better of us."

This is yet again another sign of character development for Loki since he admitted the mistakes that he made, which is something that an old version of himself may not have done in the past.

He even used it as some sort of comfort to his friend and assured him that it's okay to make a mistake and they just need to remind themselves to not let their emotions get too ahead of them.

While Loki has not entirely removed his mischievous personality, he has also learned to have more empathy and care for other people.

Who knew from the beginning of the series that it would lead to moments like this? It is certainly a welcomed surprise for fans and it's interesting to see how he will grow further as this current season goes along.

New episodes of the second season of Loki premiere every Thursday night on Disney+.
