The second episode of Loki season 2 saw General Dox and an army of Minutemen pruning a lot of branched timelines which devastated Loki, Sylvie, and the TVA employees as it resulted in killing off billions of people who were living in those destroyed universes.

As a result, some fans have been wondering whether the other Marvel universes that we've seen outside the main Earth-616 in the MCU such as the Spider-Man films with Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield were affected by the pruning or not.

Now, we have the word regarding the fate of those two aforementioned universes and, fortunately, it looks like they're still safe for now.

In an interview with Screen Rant, Dan DeLeeuw, who directed the second episode of Loki Season 2, assured that the Maguire and Garfield Spider-Man universes were safe from Dox's multiverse pruning.

"We played around with some of those ideas. We didn't get too specific about who was gonna go, but I definitely made my list of what the same lines were. But, it's something that was kind of was fun," he said.

"I got to work on season 1 on the visual effects, so I was part of the birth of the multiverse, and then on season 2, I got to be part of the blowing up of the multiverse. [Laughs] Which is kind of nice, Alpha and Omega in terms of what's happening storyline wise."

This is great news for fans who were concerned with the fate of those well-known timelines that we saw existed in the past and we can say for now that the other Spider-Men are still happily living as of this moment.

However, DeLeeuw did not discuss the fate of the Fox X-Men universe which is an interesting exclusion although that might be addressed more in Deadpool 3 where it will also double down on the multiverse.

We still don't know yet at this point the extent of the aftermath of Dox's multiverse pruning, but at least for now, we can safely say that those two Spider-Man universes were able to make it. Fingers crossed that the other Marvel universes that we know and love also have a similar fate.
