The reception to the second season of Loki so far has been mostly positive from both fans and critics as they are happy to see the God of Mischief and the TVA gang return for another series of multiversal adventures.

The stakes couldn't be higher since more branched timelines are now being created as a result of Sylvie's killing of He Who Remains in the first season finale and it has caused chaos within the TVA.

It is also set to become a pivotal chapter in the Multiverse Saga and the events by the end of the season may lead to the conflict that will arise in upcoming multiverse-centric films such as Deadpool 3 and the upcoming Avengers films.

Some fans have already been wondering about the future of the series following the current season and whether we will see the TVA gang again in other MCU endeavors.

Now, one of the key creatives of the series has chimed in on the show's potential third season.

In an interview with Collider, Loki executive producer Kevin Wright was asked about the possibility of doing a third season given the huge success of the first two seasons so far.

He revealed that the story was always planned to end by the second season although he didn't shoot down the possibility that they might still continue beyond.

"It was similar to Season 1 in we wanted to tell this story and tell it well, but even in Season 1, we obviously were thinking about where we were going. I would say Season 1 and Season 2 were developed and created as, like, kind of two chapters of the same book," Wright said.

"We felt pretty strongly, all of us involved, that Season 2 was about closing that book but that there are many other books on the shelf for this character and for this world."

The producer continued, "But this felt like it wanted to be the conclusion of these great things that we set up in Season 1. We don't want to constantly leave people with drastic cliffhangers for our finales."

Based on Wright's comments here, it sounded like the second season will have a definitive ending on the story that they set up since the first season and a third season is not officially in the cards yet.

A lot of fans would definitely love to see more of Loki and the TVA gang in the MCU whether it's this series or another project. Wright even teased in another interview recently that the TVA may have a pivotal role in other MCU projects moving forward.

For now, let's wait and see how the rest of the season will unfold and how it will end since it will tell us what the future of the series will be after the new season airs.
