The blossoming romance between Loki and Sylvie is a tough pill to swallow for most fans of the Marvel Cinematic Universe because of how weird the concept of it is.

Even if you look at it as self-love being taken to the next level, the idea of the two Lokis falling in love was quite unsettling. Still, the creative minds behind Marvel Studios' Loki seem to be pushing a romantic relationship between Loki and Sylvie despite the mostly negative reaction from the fandom.

However, Episode 5 may have finally put an end to any possibility of Loki and Sylvie being together romantically. The episode titled "Journey Into Mystery" saw the reunion between the two as they find a way to uncover the mystery behind the Void.

During a heartfelt scene between the two, Sylvie talked about how she's never experienced having friends and telling Loki that they are the same.

To many fans, Sylvie's statement felt like she was implying that she's not interested in any other form of relationship with Laufeyson despite their tremendous emotional connection and she clearly wants them to be friends. So, does this mean that Sylvie just put the God of Mischief in the friend zone? Check out the reactions below:

The dynamic between Sylvie and Loki is incredible but it doesn't necessarily mean that they should have a romantic relationship. However, it's worth mentioning that Sylvie could in fact be Enchantress all along and not a variant version of the God of Mischief himself so I guess there's still a chance that the "Sylki" ship could actually sail.

The latest episode of Loki is now streaming on Disney+
