Megumin has finally reached Axel, and as many fans were hoping, the KonoSuba Explosion spin-off finally showed Kazuma, Aqua, and Darkness.
As Megumin only meets her future party members in KonoSuba’s first season, Kazuma, Aqua, and Darkness did not interact with Megumin in the spin-off’s latest episode.
Though their appearances were more than just blink-or-you’ll-miss-it moments as they had some hilarious speaking lines in the anime, featuring their original voice actors.

Megumin Almost Comes Across Kazuma and Aqua
After her less-than-stellar encounter with the Axis Order over at Arcanretia, Megumin and Yunyun have finally reached their destination, Axel. This is the city where most of the main KonoSuba anime’s events take place.
This is also the city where Megumin will meet her future party members. Though before meeting them, Megumin tries her luck with other adventurers, but to no avail.
It’s revealed that Megumin and Yunyun arrived in Axel shortly after Kazuma and Aqua did.
This was revealed at the beginning of the episode, which featured Kazuma and Aqua bickering while trying to spend the night in the stables.
Her first encounter with them was when she heard the two being berated by their boss. Then, Megumin sees them once again, this time, being fired from their job.
Finally, as Megumin was being wheeled away after fainting because of her explosion magic, Kazuma and Aqua can be seen doing manual labor in the background.
What’s funny here is the reveal that Megumin has encountered her future adventuring party, even though they didn’t notice her at all.

KonoSuba Explosion Spin-off Sees Darkness and Chris Together
While Kazuma and Aqua had three appearances, Darkness only appeared once, but it was a memorable one.
As expected, Darkness’ masochistic tendencies were on full display. In the episode, she’s shown eager to face off against a monster, even if it means she’ll get covered in goop repeatedly.
Interestingly, Darkness is shown to be with Chris, indicating that the two were companions, or at least worked together before Darkness joined Kazuma’s party.
The cherry on top of the episode is that, instead of being credited as their character’s names, the VAs were credited as “Worker in tracksuit” for Kazuma, “Worker with blue hair” for Aqua, and “Knight covered in mucus” for Darkness.
While Megumin probably won’t meet her other party members in the remaining KonoSuba Explosion episodes, it’ll be interesting to see if their paths cross once again before the series finale.
