King Charles III’s third cousin, Christina Oxenberg, recently revealed that everyone that joins the royal family undergoes a hellish kind of hazing from the British clan, as well as the press. These days, Meghan Markle seems to be their target.
King Charles III’s Cousin Urges Meghan Markle To Hang In There Like Kate Middleton
During a recent interview, Oxenberg acknowledged that what Meghan Markle is going through or went through in the hands of the royal family must have been difficult. However, she stressed that she isn’t the only one because Kate Middleton, Sarah Ferguson, and even Queen Consort Camilla experienced similar treatment.
“To Meghan Markle, I say, ‘What you are going through is a hellish kind of hazing.’ If she can just hang in there, someone else will come along who can take the heat. Nobody gets a pass including Kate Middleton,” she said (via Page Six).
Prior to Middleton and Prince William’s wedding in 2011, the former was labeled “Kate Middleton Class” because her family belonged to this economic sector.
Queen Consort Camilla also joined in on the shade by calling Middleton’s parents, Michael and Carole Middleton, “Meet the Fockers.”

The Royal Family Controlled Prince Andrew’s Relationship With Koo Stark
Prince Andrew’s ex-wife wasn’t regarded as a suitable partner for the royal. And even the Duke of York’s ex-girlfriend, Koo Stark, became a target of criticism after it was revealed that she appeared in soft-corn porn films. Queen Elizabeth later urged the couple to split.
“They thought it was all very funny — Kate Middle Class and Sarah Ferguson and Koo Stark. hey meant no disrespect; after all, she is the future queen of England,” Oxenberg said.
King Charles III’s cousin also called Stark’s work background a flimsy reason as to why her relationship with Prince Andrew should end.
“It was a very flimsy reason. There’s a good example of how you can suffer as a royal for no good reason. They were both really in love. They were soul mates, and he was prevented from marrying his soul mate. Had he married her, things would be different today,” she said.
The Royal Family, British Press Are Especially Tough On Foreigners Like Meghan Markle
The other victims of the royal family and the press’s hellish kind of hazing included Prince Michael of Kent and his partner, von Reibnitz.
“She was treated the same way Meghan [has been] treated — with this mocking and lack of respect. We always used to mock her because she kept referring to the royals as ‘delicious cousins.’ It [the hazing] was all done out of habit and not full of hatred and violent plotting. I was a witness,” Oxenberg explained.
The king’s cousin also stressed that the royal family and the British press are especially tough on foreigners. This is why what Markle has been going through is particularly brutal.
“It’s not about your skin color. It’s about being a foreigner. She is Harry’s choice of wife. By their own metrics, they have called it a class system. They came up with that system, [by which] you have to respect Harry’s choice,” she said.
