Poong, The Joseon Psychiatrist is based on the novel of the same name by Lee Eun So. The hit tvN drama features Kim Min Jae as the lead star Yoo Se Poong, a famous internal medicine doctor who gets expelled from the royal court due to a conspiracy. As the second season ended with ten episodes this month, will fans see Poong, The Joseon Psychiatrist 3?
Woo Do Hwan's Special Appearance
Woo Do Hwan made a special appearance in the final episode of the series, which aired on Thursday, February 9.
As this definitely surprised the viewers, Kim Min Jae revealed he was the mind behind it.
"I personally offered Woo Do Hwan to appear [as a cameo]," he said, per Soompi. "He told me that he was currently filming Joseon Attorney (literal title) as his first project [after his military discharge], so I suggested to him, 'Come over to our world,' because his is also [taking place in] Joseon like Poong, The Joseon Psychiatrist."

Poong, The Joseon Psychiatrist 2 successfully maintained its high ratings, with an average nationwide viewership rating of 2.4 percent during its season finale.

"I thought a lot [about the viewership ratings]. It would have been great if we could deliver this heartwarming drama to more viewers," Kim Min Jae stated. "But even if not, I think it is a drama that can convey good messages to viewers who will watch this later, so I think it's still okay."

Meanwhile, with its success, not to mention becoming a fan-favorite, fans are now wondering if there will be Poong, The Joseon Psychiatrist 3. So, will Kim Min Jae do it if the show gets renewed?

"I want to film Season 3 if given the chance. Many viewers are asking for [Season 3]," the actor revealed. "So, there have been many talks about that, but if there comes a moment when Joseon needs a psychiatrist again, I would be grateful to take on Season 3."
