Killer Instinct Traverses from Consoles to Comics

Xbox One players enjoyed the exclusivity of Killer Instinct on Microsoft's console as the console-exclusive reboot.

This time, the franchise is extending beyond games to debut in the comic landscape. Now Dynamite Entertainment has already partnered with Microsoft to bring the franchise into the comics outside the first comic tie-in that it had.

In a statement to Comicbook.com Microsoft's Earnest Yuen shared that Killer Instinct fans have long been asking for. And this is a way to deliver this request, as well as help expound on the current back stories that will come to the Shadow Lords expansion.

Dynamite Entertainment CEO and publisher Nick Barrucci also added that this is the first step for the company when it comes to its plans for more video game and comic tie-ins.

"As we continue to expand our line of video game tie-in titles, Killer Instinct is a perfect choice with great characters to explore and expand upon. The comics will be the beginning of a publishing program, which we will announce more details around soon."

The plan for a comic tie-in seems to come at a perfect time. Killer Instinct in itself already has its own history as far as stories are concerned. But with expansions looking to add more content, there will be more material that the comic can work with.

Dynamite Entertainment will reveal more details about the planned Killer Instinct comics sometime later before its expected launch sometime late next year.
