Kid Flash Actor Reveals Details on His Training & Upcoming War with Savitar

The Flash fans know that the show has two main Speedsters that can't be overlooked. There's the original Scarlet Speedster, Barry Allen, who's the titular hero. And then there's Wally West, a.k.a. Kid Flash, who also happens to be Iris West's brother.

Technically, the show isn't really focused on drama compared to battling off sinisters, seeing Barry mess with time in so many ways, and letting us see the development between Barry and Iris. And from the looks of it, Kid Flash's overall role in The Flash will play up on the heroics, especially with Savitar's prophecies looming in the horizon.

Speaking with CBR, Kid Flash actor Keiynan Lonsdale touched on some of the things that his character will be diving in, including some pretty cool training and his dealings with Savitar.

Kid Flash has already come far from being Joe's unknown son and Iris's brother. Since the family has reunited, Wally's inclusion to the team has brought with it a second Speedster to the team, thanks to the many times that he's gotten his speed.

For this season, it seems like we'll be seeing Kid Flash's training continue. However, this will be different from when we first saw Barry running at the speed of light while also trying to keep out of sight as The Streak.

"He is proud. Wally doesn't want to hide these powers at all. He's so into them. He likes the attention. Barry is a little more modest when it comes to that. Wally is down for it. If people want to chant his name or be his fans, he's totally cool with that."

We've seen that in the premiere episode of the second half of the season, after he was able to capture Plunder. Still, that doesn't make him vulnerable from doubting his powers, especially since Barry's been the pedestal for what it takes to be a good speedster—though a little ironic if you ask me since he's done a lot of damage, time travel-wise.

Perhaps one other place that we'll see Kid Flash weighing in so much would be in the fight against Savitar. Not only are they up against a speed god, but his only sister is now being threatened for dead.

"He's grown so close to this new family that it's always such a shock and such a disappointment for him when they are constantly being threatened. With this, it's not just another threat. It's constantly that thing of not knowing what you can do to help. Even though he now has these powers, can he help? That's what is weighing on his mind right now."

The Flash airs every Tuesdays, 8pm on The CW.
