There is little doubt that The Falcon and the Winter Soldier is the one Disney+ show that had too many troubles with COVID-19. Although none of the cast and crew actually tested positive, the Marvel Cinematic Universe series was delayed repeatedly throughout the year.
However, Kevin Feige claims that there is one cast member who didn't let any of those problems get in his way. The Marvel Studios head has praised Anthony Mackie for his amazing professionalism while filming for the MCU show.
Feige spoke to Emmy magazine about the difficulties of working on new shows amidst COVID-19. Interestingly, it was confirmed that the cast and crew of The Falcon and The Winter Soldier had to travel back and forth to different locations and adhere to safety precautions.
However, Feige pointed out that Mackie exhibited "strong leadership" during these trying times. Needless to say, it looks like the series has indeed found the most perfect new Captain America.
We already know that The Falcon and The Winter Soldier will focus on Mackie's Sam Wilson as well as Sebastian Stan's Bucky Barnes. Although the full storyline of the new MCU series has not yet been revealed, it is strongly suggested that Sam will finally be confirmed as the new Captain America. With that in mind, we can't wait to see what's in store for us next year.
The Falcon and The Winter Soldier is made up of six episodes and is currently scheduled to premiere on Disney+ on March 19, 2021.
