There is little doubt that people are hyped up for Thor: Love and Thunder now that it has been confirmed that Christian Bale will be playing Gorr the God Butcher in the sequel. But what else do we know about the highly anticipated Marvel Cinematic Universe flick? Tessa Thompson, who also broke the news about Bale's involvement in the film, has just shared some awesome new details about Valkyrie.
Thompson recently spoke to The Playlist where she confirmed that Valkyrie will still rule Asgard while Thor sets off on an adventure.
"I can tease that she's definitely King of New Asgard when we find her," she said. "And as was the case in the last four, I would say that she's a part of an adventure that involved Thor, in the sense that it's called Thor: Love and Thunder."
In addition to that, Thompson stated that there are awesome surprises to look forward to in the fourth Thor movie.
"I'd say there's some cool stuff going on. We have some new characters; we have some folks potentially from other pockets of the MCU," she said. Thompson then added, "And then we have some folks, maybe, that we've seen before."
This is an exciting update considering that fans have been hoping that some of Thor's old friends will be back in Love and Thunder. For now, it's unclear who else will show up but we're hoping Thompson shares more details again soon.
Thor: Love and Thunder is currently in production and is scheduled for release on May 6, 2022.
