Kevin Feige Describes Werewolf by Night as 'Important to the Future of the MCU'

In just about a week, Werewolf by Night is set to make its highly-anticipated premiere on Disney+ and fans have been curious about the MCU special's take on the classic black-and-white horror genre as well as its first full introduction to the supernatural side of the MCU.

IGN released a new behind-the-scenes featurette for Werewolf by Night where the cast and crew discussed the making of the special including their creative decision of paying homage to the Universal Monsters films in the early 20th century as well as its contribution to the expanding mythos of the MCU.

"We wanted to explore entirely new characters and entirely new sides of the MCU with this unusual, fun, and frightening spin on the supernatural," Feige explained in the featurette.

However, one tidbit that may catch on with a lot of MCU fans is Feige's cryptic tease about how this special will have an important role in the future of the MCU moving forward.

"We are introducing a world that will ultimately become quite important to the future of the MCU," he said.

Considering that this is the first full MCU project that focuses on the supernatural side in addition to being their first TV special, it does make sense to hear that Werewolf by Night will play an important part in the future of the MCU and a project that fans might have to check out.

Right now, we don't know exactly how the special will play a pivotal role in the MCU moving forward. Considering that characters such as Blade, Black Knight, Agatha Harkness, Moon Knight, and others are being set up as key players in the MCU, it is inevitable that the supernatural side will be explored even further.
