Kevin Feige Avoids Confirming His Star Wars Involvement

Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige has a Star Wars movie in development. Instead of sharing it out loud, he is trying his best to dodge any topics about it and keep it a secret. While 2020 provided Feige with some distance between himself and the media, he is back to work in 2021, with the Marvel Cinematic Universe in motion with the upcoming Disney+ debut of WandaVision. When asked for an update for his upcoming Star Wars project, Feige did his best to dodge the topic.

Feige was said to be a lover of Star Wars. He was hired by Lucasfilm to work on a Star Wars film and was reportedly confirmed. However, he wasn't too keen to share it. When asked about it, he would say, "everything you've heard about that has been leaked. It's not stuff that we've officially announced or gotten into."

In an interview with Variety, Feige was asked about the recent rumor with Loki writer Michael Waldron is also going to work on his Star Wars film. He said, "We're thinking that we're not — that is, um — everything you've heard about that has been leaked. It's not stuff that we've officially announced or gotten into. So, suffice to say, the focus is on all the number of Marvel things we're working on. The what, where, when, and how of that ["Star Wars" movie], I don't know. I'm excited for "The Book of Boba Fett," and the "Rogue One" show, and the Obi-Wan show, and Patty's movie, and Taika's movie. [Smiles] After "Thor: Love and Thunder," of course."

Star Wars and Marvel fans had many questions about Feige's Star Wars films. As Feige indicated, there was never any official statement from either Disney or Lucasfilm that Feige's Star Wars project really exists. One of the reasons why fans recently ramp up their questions was because Disney unveiled an entirely new slate of upcoming Star Wars TV and movie projects. The big slate did not include Feige's film. Nonetheless, the omission of the project is not only exclusive to Feige. In fact, there are no new updates on Rian Johnson's possible next Star Wars movie project, which was already rumored for some time.

As of now, Feige is still avoiding to disclose any details. He prefers maintaining secrecy when it comes to the big blockbuster franchises. If he is really working on a Star Wars project, he will be the one to decide when is the right time to share information, not even the title will be out if wants it kept as a secret.

Star Wars and Marvel will be releasing projects on Disney+ from 2021 to 2022.
