Kep1er members surely felt overwhelmed after making it to the girl group’s final lineup.
Following the success of several K-pop survival shows, like the Produce franchise, Girls Planet 999 welcomed 99 contestants to the show and documented their journey toward their potential debut in a girl group. After 12 episodes, the show selected nine trainees in the final lineup: Choi Yujin, Shen Xiaoting, Sakamoto Mashiro, Kim Chaehyun, Kim Dayeon, Ezaki Hikaru, Hening Bahiyyih, Seo Youngeun, and Kang Yeseo.
As Kep1er continues to enjoy their time as an idol group, the members took some time to look back at their time as trainees and shared how they felt after making it to the final list of idols.

Kep1er Members React on ‘Unexpected’ Debut
Kep1er Members recently appeared on the pages of Marie Claire Korea’s April issue and spoke about their debut and plans.
According to Seo Young Eun, she felt overwhelmed with emotion when the girl group’s name was announced. Now that she is no longer a trainee, she still reportedly could not believe that she is now Kep1er’s Seo Young Eun.

“I was a trainee for five years. My debut was something my family longed for just as much as I did, so I wanted to quickly let them know that I was debuting,” Mashiro added.
That is the reason why they think about rainbows when they think about the group. Kim Chae Hyun said that both rainbows and Kep1er help people improve their mood, adding that the rain before the rainbow also symbolizes their sweat and tears before achieving their dreams.
Kep1er Shares Hopes For Their Promotions
Now that they have started their promotions, Kep1er revealed to their fans a sneak peek of their future plans.
Xiaoting noted that they have been already producing songs where they used different languages. With that, she wants to visit those countries and personally share her energy with them.
Meanwhile, Kang Ye Seo still could not detail what image they would have in the future, but she assured that Kep1er would do better in the future. The girl group pledge to work persistently to become the musicians they are currently looking up to.
Kep1er will take another leap in their career during the premiere of Mnet’s Queendom on March 31.
