The last few years saw numerous K-pop groups emerge and release different music. With the industry’s growing and expanding reach across the globe, more will certainly enter the scene this year, like Kep1er, who recently debuted as a nine-member act.

The all-female K-pop group has since made the headlines because of their music release, as well as its impact in the same space.  AllKpop recently reported that the idols have even broken records with their debut album, beating several groups, including STAYC and IVE.

Kep1er Beats IVE, STAYC With New Record

The publication stated that Kep1er set a new record in terms of sales of copies. During the first week of the debut, the K-pop group sold more than 200,000 copies around the world.

As noted, the figure comes from Hanteo Chart, which houses album sales records of artists in South Korea. With the given number for the new MLD Entertainment act, they ranked first place on the site's list.

This means that the group has the "most number of debut albums sold within the first week of sales" among rookie groups of the last two years.

Reports, then, recalled the massive successes of IVE and STAYC's respective debuts in December 2021 and November 2020. But, despite the significant number of sales, Kep1er has surpassed them all.
