Keanu Reeves may finally have returned to screens as the wanted assassin in John Wick: Chapter 4, however, another franchise comes to mind when speaking with the actor: a potential update from DC's Constantine 2. As much as previous reports implied that it is still on the table, Reeves spoke his mind on the matter.
Recently talking with CinemaBlend while promoting John Wick: Chapter 4, when asked on any possibilities of getting closer to a potential release window or Constantine 2 finally wrapping up, Reeves said: “We're trying. I don't know if it's going to happen. Hopefully I get to do it, but, I don't know."
In hopes of perhaps giving the actor a glimpse of his future in DC, that the studio being handled under co-CEOs James Gunn and Peter Safran, has many amazing projects, including Elseworlds, and not to mention, Justice League Dark could be on the table someday again, Reeves responded with: “Yeah, yeah. Hopefully we can play.”

Justice League Dark has not yet been confirmed nor in development, however, its previous director, now-known M3GAN director, Gerard Johnstone, nearly one-upped Gunn's new slate for DC with Chapter 1: Gods & Monsters with its script. The film couldn't come to fruition previously due to it being DC not wanting to invest money with "a bunch of characters no one's heard of".
Should Constantine 2 soon move in development, Reeves might not be playing that character for the last time, given that Justice League Dark would hand over an opportunity to reprise the role alongside Deadman, Swamp Thing, and Zatanna.
Considering that Constantine 2 is technically in its early production, little to no information has been provided on the plot. But the history of DC comics should be able to unravel some clues. Not to mention, the ending of the first Constantine film perfectly sets up the sequel.
