Kate Middleton and Meghan Markle never became the best of friends. But when the latter first joined the royal family, it was evident that the sisters-in-law tried their best to get along with each other. Unfortunately, it didn’t take long before the stories of an alleged feud surfaced. There were claims that Prince Harry’s wife made Middleton cry before her royal wedding.
Initial reports claimed that Meghan Markle and Kate Middleton couldn’t agree on Princess Charlotte’s bridesmaid dress. And it wasn’t until last year that the Duchess of Sussex had the opportunity to deny the allegations.

Meghan Markle Claimed That Kate Middleton Was The One Who Made Her Cry Before Her Royal Wedding
During her interview with Oprah Winfrey, Markle said that she did not make Middleton cry. Rather, Prince William’s wife was the one who made her cry, but Middleton apologized to her and even sent her flowers.
“She was upset about something, but she owned it, and she apologized. And she brought me flowers. It wasn't a confrontation, and I actually think it's… I don't think it's fair to her to get into the details of that, because she apologized. What was hard to get over was being blamed for something that not only I didn't do but that happened to me,” Markle said (via Express).
Royal Author Alleged That Kate Middleton Became Upset With Meghan Markle Before Her Royal Wedding
But during his interview with Good Morning Britain, royal author Tom Bower debunked Markle’s claims by saying that the initial reports were true: Prince Harry’s wife reportedly made Middleton cry.
Bower also responded to the claims that his new book Revenge: Meghan, Harry and the War Between the Windsors was biased against the Sussexes.
“She made it pretty clear to all her friends and people who work for her not to talk to me, so it was quite an uphill struggle but I got enough people to speak to me, more than enough, I got about 80 people. I sifted through, I never put in stuff that isn't true and can't be checked,” he said.
Bower also claimed that the Duchess of Cambridge was a tad bit emotional ahead of Prince Harry and Markle’s royal wedding because she had just given birth to her son, Prince Louis, weeks earlier. So, she was feeling tired and thought that her sister-in-law showed little sympathy for those who did not belong in her circle.
Kate Middleton, Meghan Markle Disagreed On The Length And Fit Of Princess Charlotte’s Bridesmaid Dress
Prince William’s wife also struggled to cope with her disagreements with Markle over the length and fit of Princess Charlotte’s bridesmaid dress. Of course, Middleton wanted to follow royal protocol, but Markle wanted to get her way, and she was supported by her friend, Jessica Mulroney.
Middleton couldn’t help but become upset because Markle refused to compromise. And the former also realized that complaints regarding Markle’s behavior may have been accurate after all.
Two years ago, a friend of the Cambridges detailed the feud between Middleton and Markle during an interview with Tatler.
“It was a hot day and apparently there was a row over whether the bridesmaids should wear tights or not. Kate, following protocol, felt that they should. Meghan didn’t want them to,” the unnamed friend said.
But shortly after the article was released, a spokesperson for Kensington Palace denied that a feud between the sisters-in-law ever took place, according to Page Six.
