Kate Middleton and Prince William have been blessed with three adorable children, but royal fans have been hoping that the couple will add another baby to their brood.
Two years ago, Kate Middleton admitted that was feeling broody when she saw an adorable baby during one of her royal engagements. But when royal fans asked her if she and Prince William had plans to have another baby, the Duchess of Cambridge said that she doesn’t think her husband wants more children, according to Glamour.
In 2017, Prince William and Middleton already had Prince George and Princess Charlotte when they verbalized their plans to have another baby. Shortly after their royal engagement, the children’s organization Having Kids reportedly wrote a letter to the royal couple.
The organization discouraged Prince William and Middleton from having too many children because large families could have problems with sustainability and equity. Since the Cambridges are influential people, Having Kids believes that the number of children that they have can encourage their supporters to have the exact same number of kids at home.
Anne Green Carter Dillard, the executive director and president of Having Kids also said that having two children like Prince George and Princess Charlotte ensures that their parents can give them the best. But if the Cambridges will have more kids, it’s no longer a guarantee that they can give them everything, according to Marie Claire.
However, royal commentator Duncan Larcombe is convinced that having baby number four is not completely out of the picture for Prince William and Middleton.
Kate Middleton, Prince William’s Friends Think They Will Have Another Baby
In a column for Woman UK, in its Nov. 23 issue, Larcombe said that friends of Middleton believe she and Prince William have not yet ruled out baby number four.
“Rumors have been circulating for some time that Kate and William may once again welcome the pitter-patter of tiny feet sometime soon,” Larcombe wrote.
The royal commentator added that it’s quite surprising that Prince William and Middleton are stalling having another baby because they are not like other parents that are worried about how they will raise their kids.
“Unlike many couples, they have no financial worries; and adding one more child to a brood of three is hardly going to push their parenting skills any further than they have been pushed already. William and Kate have shown it’s possible to be full-time working royals and loving, hands-on parents. In fact, those close to the Cambridge clan say the children are William and Kate’s secret weapon, helping them to keep their sanity as their royal workload intensifies,” he said.
Larcombe concluded his column by saying that it’s not really a question of if but when with regards to Prince William and Middleton having more children.
Royal Experts Are Confident Prince William, Kate Middleton Won’t Stop At 3 Kids
In June, Larcombe spoke with OK! magazine UK and made similar remarks about the possibility of Prince William and Middleton having more children.
“I don't think Kate and William have ever ruled out the possibility of baby number four. Their children really bring out the best in them and Kate is a natural mother and very doting with children. With Kate, despite her focus on her royal duty, her family still comes first. I wouldn't be surprised if they decided on another baby,” he said.
Royal author Katie Nicholl also said that Middleton has made no secret that she wants to have four children. However, her husband has always been content with just having three kids.
Kate Middleton, Prince William Tried To Conceive Earlier This Year?
Earlier this year, an unnamed source also told Us Weekly that Prince William and Middleton were trying to conceive their fourth child.
“Having four children was always part of Kate’s plan. She put the idea on hold when [the coronavirus pandemic hit], but now there is light at the end of the tunnel with the vaccine, and [Prince George and Princess Charlotte] are scheduled to return to school in April. She feels ready to start trying again,” the unnamed source said at the time.
However, almost an entire year has passed but Middleton still hasn’t gotten pregnant. As of late, it’s unclear if she and Prince William still want to add to their happy family. And if they do, a spokesperson for the couple will be the one to announce Middleton’s pregnancy firsthand.
